In the afternoon of May 2nd, the College of Finance held the "staying true to our founding mission" special party lecture in the library's lecture hall as scheduled. Jia Cuifang, Deputy Director of the university's Working Committee, was specially invited as the speaker of the party lecture. Secretary-General of the university's Working Committee Zhang Kun, Deputy Secretary-General Wang Baorong and Mi Xiuen, Secretary Kong Yuhong attended the event.
Ms. Jia started from the central idea of the party's 19th National Congress report "Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind" and then elaborated on what the "original aspiration" was for the students. The Communist Party's original aspiration is to "strive for people's happiness and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." Ms. Jia's explanation was from the elementary to the profound, so that the students deeply understood the meaning of "original aspiration". Afterwards, Ms. Jia told students to keep learning and correct their motivation of joining the party while having dreams from the two aspects of "theoretical study" and "social practice". She also stressed that "the youth will make the country prosperous and strong", so the students should not only physically but also mentally join the Party. Finally, Ms. Jia made three requests to the students: First, to improve ideological understanding and fully understand the standards of Party members; Second, to strengthen party spirits and strive to meet the standards of Party members; Third, to play a vanguard exemplary role and reflect the standards of Party members in action.
