Longyao Zhang is Deputy Dean and Professor of Finance at College of Finance,

Nanjing Agricultural University. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at

Economics & Management School and Economic Development Research Center

of Wuhan University from 2010-2012. In 2011, he worked as a research assistant

at the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC). Since 2013, he

also served as assistant director at the Research Center for Rural Finance of

Jiangsu Province, funded by the Department of Education in Jiangsu Province. He

worked as a visiting scholar at the Victoria Institute of Strategic Economic

Studies (VISES) of Victoria University Melbourne from 2016-2017.

He was awarded the Ph.D. degree from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2010.

His research interests include rural credit market, agricultural value chain

finance, microfinance, bank lending behavior, and financial development. He has

also written empirical papers in rural credit market with a growing focus on

rural land titling and credit access in China, microfinance development in China

and China’s bank lending behavior.
